MDE Seeks Input on Rules Governing Special Education Programs and Services and Education of Pregnant Students

The Michigan Department of Education will conduct public hearings to receive comment on rules governing Special Education Programs and Services and rules governing Education of Pregnant Students.   Public hearings on the proposed rules will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Detroit School of Arts, Aaliyah Memorial Recital Hall; Monday, December 3, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lansing Community College West, Room M122; and Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Kent ISD Conference Center, Rooms 1 &2.    Written comments may be submitted in person at the hearings or by mail to Public Comment, Office of Special Education, Michigan Department of Education P.O. Box 30008 Lansing, Michigan 48909.  Input may also be submitted via email at or facsimile at 517-373-8414.  All written input must be received no later than 5 p.m. on December 14, 2012.
