On May 16, 2014, the Michigan Division of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MDDOH) submitted the final version of the Qualified Interpreter Rules to the Joint Committee on Legislative Affairs (JCAR).  Submission of the final version of the Qualified Interpreter Rules to JCAR is the final step in the administrative rulemaking process under the Administrative Procedures Act, MCL ยง24.201, et seq.   JCAR has 15 legislative session days from the date of submission of the final version of rules package to determine whether to adopt the rules.

The Agency Report includes a description of the requested changes to the rules received by MDDOH during the public comment period and provides an explanation by the MDDOH why it accepted or rejected the requested change in the final version of the proposed rules.
